Who is who?
Data governance is the management of the availability, integrity, usability and security of data used in an organization. A good data governance program includes a governing body or council, a set of defined procedures, and a plan to execute those procedures.
Regarding the Spanish Inventory of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, these functions are largely assumed by the Committee of the Spanish Inventory of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, which is the coordination body between Administrations, with report and proposal powers. , assigned to the State Commission for Natural Heritage and Biodiversity , in a manner compatible with the functions of the rest of the existing specific Committees, which is assigned, among others, the function of establishing the procedures for the development and operation of the Inventory with special dedication to the technical standards that will regulate each component.
It is also responsible for technically analyzing and submitting to the State Commission for Natural Heritage and Biodiversity the proposals on the subjects that thematically correspond to it or are specifically assigned by it.
To carry out its mission, this Committee has several working groups that allow the assigned issues to be addressed technically and thematically.
In addition, collaboration with both public and private institutions is promoted to have the best knowledge, as well as the use of innovative technologies to improve knowledge and in the management and dissemination of information.
