Mortalidad de vertebrados por atropello en las riberas del Miño en Orense.

Vertebrate mortality due to car collision is investigated in two roads: a 12-km stretch in a 40-year old road (OR-402) and a 17-km stretch in a one-year old road (CN-120) close to Miño River, Orense (NW Spain). The mortality rate in CN-120 was 717 ± 528 individuals /km/year whereas in OR-402 it was 433 individuals/km/year. In both areas, amphibians and reptiles were, by far, the most affected classes. Both design and location of the roads are responsible of the high mortality rates. Lack of fauna passages is highlighted.

Se ha investigado la mortalidad de vertebrados debido a las colisiones con vehículos en dos carretera: un tramo de 12 km en una carretera antigua de 40 años (OR-402) y un tramo de 17 km en una carretera nueva de un año (CN-120) próximas al río Miño, Orense (NO España). La tasa de mortalidad en la CN-120 fue 717 ± 528 individuos/km/año mientras en la OR-402 fue de 433 individuos/km/año. En ambas zonas los anfibios y los reptiles fueron las clases más afectadas. Tanto el diseño como la localización de las dos carreteras fueron los responsables de las tasas elevadas de mortalidad. Se subraya la falta de pasos de fauna.
