Las infraestructuras lineales y su efecto barrera sobre los vertebrados.

Review of the barrier effect of infrastructures (in a broad sense, including roads, railways, power lines, dams, and canals) on vertebrates with emphasis on the scarce Spanish examples. Topics treated: resistance to movements; side effects of noise, traffic, and human activity; mortality; solutions and levels for their application. Recommendations are general, focusing on how to anticipate barrier effects when constructing a new infrastructure and how to mitigate or compensate them.

Revisión del efecto barrera de una infraestructura (en sentido amplio, incluyendo carreteras, vías de tren, líneas eléctricas, presas, y canales) sobre vertebrados con una énfasis en los escasos ejemplos españoles. Temas tratados: resistencia a los movimientos; efectos indirectos del ruido, tráfico, y la actividad humana; mortalidad; soluciones y niveles de aplicación. Las recomendaciones son generales y se centran en como anticipar el efecto barrera en la construcción de una nueva infraestructura y como mitigarlos o compensarlos.
