La mortalidad de mamíferos en carreteras. Análisis de la información recopilada hasta el momento en el PMVC.

Small mammals are the most affected wild mammals, although for some species barrier effect might be more harmful than casualties. The same happens to ungulates which are not very often killed in roads as compared to other mammals. Carnivore casualties are rather low but some endangered species may be seriously affected by mortality in roads; again barrier effects could be the main problem. Domestic animals casualties, especially cats and dogs, are explained by their recent spreading into natural environment, which requires appropriate solutions.
