Distribution, status and conservation problems of the wolf Canis lupus in Spain.

The distribution, status and conservation problems of the wolf were studied in 1987 and 1988. The authors recorded 503 human-caused mortality cases, of which shooting was the most important (60%), followed by removal of litters (19,7%). Vehicle collision occupied the 5th place (4,6%).

Se estudió la distribución, estado y los problemas de conservación del lobo durante 1987 y 1988. Los autores registraron 503 casos de mortalidad relacionada con causas humanas, de los cuales los disparos representaron la causa más importante (60%), seguida por el extravio de camadas (19,7%). Las colisiones con vehículos ocuparon el quinto lugar (4,6%).
